We are so happy today, so happy ...
.
Tadadadaaaaa (drum roll), because of the many donations and one super big one, we reached the target amount 🎉 from the GoFundMe page!!!!
.
This means that we can finish building the rescue center and can build a decent (container) home for the managers. Nevertheless, we still need help and goods are always welcome.
For instance:
- Wall tiles for the bathroom + visitor's toilet and the medical room.
- Fridge for the shop and the medical room.
- Fans (for the various rooms).
- Lockable cabinets, lamps, a desk….
- Help with building or taking care of the dogs while the other volunteers build?!
.
In short, there is still plenty to do and the first action now is to finish the puppy pen and pour the foundations / floors for the quarantine pens and house.
.
You are welcome every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 12pm to view the progress and to cuddle the puppies (or older dogs). Please send us a pm if you can help with anything and stay tuned for updates!

Dearest Polly has been rescued from the streets a year ago!
.
Fortunately, because she was completely covered in ticks and she is visually impaired, so living on the streets was not good for her at all 😢. They think her visual impairment is because she had a bad carp disease. She is about 4.5 years old and probably was homeless for a while. There is something off about her front teeth, but hey who cares she is happy now!
.
‘I am well taken care off by my foster, but I would like to be adopted too. I would like to find a quiet house, where not too much is expected of me. I need an owner who has patience because at first, I must get used to the new environment. When I have warmed up to you, I am the easiest dog in the world! I get along with other dogs and I also leave the cat alone. Enjoying my life, that is basically all I want 🥰. I am not a big fan of children, especially when they make noise, I find that too much….’

‘I know I may not be the perfect dog because of my limitations, but I am really sweet and a lot of fun. So, if you have patience and you don't mind if I first have to get used to everything then please contact RPC.’

Hi there! I am Pruim (Plum) 🥰

For a long time I walked around in an industrial area where I was no longer welcome due to a no dog policy. Perhaps that was a good thing, because I was attacked there a few times by other dogs .. In the end I was taken off the streets and I had an owner for a few days. Unfortunately I escaped to the industrial estate again.
.
I am having a good time at RPC and I am happy dog. But because I am still a bit reluctant, I am not yet ready for adoption. Hopefully I will find my place at the Center and I will learn that running away is not necessary because there will always be food for me. After that I hope to find my own home!
.

Afke, An, Bacon en nog vele andere kleine pups zijn op zoek naar een foster op Curaçao. Vindt jij het leuk om drie weken onderdeel te zijn van het leventje van deze pup, hem mee te nemen naar plekjes waar hij gesocialiseerd wordt en hem laat deelnemen aan jouw gezinsleven, dan zoeken we jou!
De kosten voor voer wordt gedekt. Wij leveren een bench waar hij in kan slapen, tuigjes om te oefenen met lopen en eventueel speeltjes om mee te spelen.

Hi, we are the D puppies! 🐾

Brothers Django, Dries & Duuk are about 19 weeks old. Django will be leaving for the Netherlands soon this lucky boy is reserved! Dries and Duuk are eagerly waiting for their foreverhomes!
.
A month ago their lives looked drastically different. At the end of September they were rescued off the streets by one of our volunteers with the help of tourists. The D-puppies lived at 'Grote Berg', where they were roaming the streets together, looking for food. It was immediately clear that they were not used to people. Fortunately, at the center of RPC these sweethearts are able to meet many people as well as other dogs. They all find it very exciting, but their caretakers say that it is getting better every day! 🥰

Hoe gaat het nu met SOOF?

“Wij willen graag laten weten hoe het met Soof gaat! We zijn erg blij met haar. Ze was in het begin erg angstig. Bij de Foster duurde het 2 weken voordat ze een beetje los kwam, maar durfde nog niet te wandelen. Eenmaal bij ons ging het heel snel en na 2 weken vond ze wandelen al helemaal leuk. Elke dag weer nieuwe stapjes en nu is ze een spontane hond die de hele dag door wil knuffelen, slapen en spelen. Ze is erg gehecht aan ons. We hadden niet kunnen bedenken dat het zo goed zo gaan en dat ze zo’n vrolijk hondje is nadat we haar de eerste keer zagen.”

Na de mooie verhalen tijdens het 5-jarig jubileum die we gedeeld hebben (en op onze website staan) gaan we van start met mooie, leuke, soms pittige en toch wel ‘FeelGood’ verhalen van geadopteerde Westpointers. In het proces tot aan het adopteren van de hond werken veel vrijwilligers mee, en hoe leuk is het dan voor iedereen om te zien waar we het uiteindelijk allemaal voor doen.

Many of our rescue dogs have a remote owner. We (and the dogs 🐾) are very happy about that. These remote owners contribute to the costs we incur for our dogs, so it pays for their food, deworming, anti-flea and anti-tick, veterinary costs and medicines.
